The Italian Villa

I accompanied him on the subway all the way to the end station. His house was dark and gloomy and filled with old furniture and hand painted ceilings. He put on an old record and disappeared up to the second floor. I sat alone in the sofa nervously grasping my glass of wine. I had never been surrounded by so many beautiful and odd things.

My guitar

I bought my guitar in 2018 after having been fired from my long term job in the steel industry. I was diagnosed with acute stress and a sleep disorder. To stop my tired brain from braining, while sitting at home all day, I decided to learn the guitar. So I bought this steel stringed specimen at a local store and payed for an online course.

I sat by the fireplace and practiced all day while my husband was working and my children at school. My greatest accomplishment was this song “Every rose has its thorn” by Poison.

I practice the whole summer and my fingers blead from the steel strings. I wasn’t any good at it.

After my divorce I got myself some long nails at the salon and since then I haven’t been able to pick my nose, button up a shirt or play the guitar.
